The Big Bear Letterbox
Apparently this box is missing. I will replace when I return to the area. Sorry, this was such a great place for a letterbox.
Clue Difficulty: Easy
Terrain Difficulty: Slightly Elevated
Child Friendly: Very
Hand Carved Stamp: Yes
Stamp Pad/Ink: No
Gatlinburg
Roaring Fork Nature Drive (lower part)
Parking Lot after the Rainbow Falls Parking Lot
North end of the parking lot
Small dirt trail
130 (give or take) paces or normal steps - up
Look for the large “Siamese Twin Tree” by the side of the trail
Face the small stream and count 10 steps
You should now be standing on a large flat rock
The letterbox is under this rock hidden in a crevice
You’ll have to go around and remove the small rocks
Please be careful this spot could be a fine home for some animal or reptile.
Please rehide well.
Thanks
This and 3 other boxes were planted by the "Low-Country Wanderers" during our New Years Retreat.
Have Fun!
