12/26/2022 Hiked today to re-do the entire letterbox. New container,new stamp,new log book............. Fireproof! .......
10/24/2019 Letterbox back in place / Log book volume #8 !
05/23/12 Box and stamp - gone! ..... will replace soon.
(04/25/2011 Box and logbook have been replaced along with a quickly made stamp....... New metal box only for now.)

Metal box protects it now from the heat!
This is an moderate 2 mile hike up a dirt road to an Old Catskill Mountain Hotel on top of the mountain. (elevation about 3200 feet)
1/2 mile away is a fire tower with a beautiful view of the Hudson Valley.
The hotel has 3 chimneys. The main fireplace is where the LB is hidden.
If you go to the fire tower make sure you check out the scenic view from behind the rangers station.
