Early summer floods apparently washed away "Token Creek".

This box is part of the I-94 Traffic Crawl Series.

Token Creek County Park is found on the northwest side of Madison, WI. From I-94, take exit 132 and head north (barely) on Hwy. 51. Token Creek County Park will almost immediately be on the east side of Hwy. 51 (your right). Enter the park and veer right, passing the first set of restrooms with the pop machines. Park across from the second set of restrooms. A sign should be in front of you informing you that the "Ski Trail Starts Here".

Slightly north of that sign is the path you want. Follow this path through the grass and between two blue signs letting you know that this is a "Pet Exercise Area".

Cross the rock bridge and enter a small clearing. On your right is a picnic table (NOTE: the picnic table has been removed, perhaps for winter, but this still should be findable). Head west on the trail, staying along the creek, toward a group of 7 evergreens. As you pass these trees, the base of the next to last one holds what you seek.

Please don't walk directly to the tree. We don't want to create a path. Find a less-direct route, stamp in, and replace the box well, covering it with leaves.

Following the trail will take you back to your car with minimal extra steps, or you can simply retrace your steps.

Now, before you get back on the freeway, enjoy the playgrounds, the dog park, or the disc golf course.

And if you're interested in staying in the Madison area, many boxes are nearby. The Puddlejumpers have some nice hikes at Phantom Lake and Burke Park, while a few other Sun Prairie boxes are nice, quick stops.

Have a safe trip!
