Letterbox is missing but I will replace it in three weeks!!!
This is a drive-by box that is - Extremely Easy but in a Highly Traveled Location The Star Store is located at 715 Purchase Street in New Bedford, Massachusetts and is the home of the College of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth. The the Star Store campus in downtown New Bedford opened in 2001. It was once the center of the city's bustling downtown retail district, the long dormant department store was reborn for the 21st century as the centerpiece of a thriving urban arts movement. This state-of-the-art facility is home to hundreds of artists working in a variety of disciplines. Many of the spacious, well-lit studio facilities offer stunning views of the New Bedford Historical National Park and Atlantic Ocean. The Star Store is also home to a number of impressive exhibition spaces--most notably the University Art Gallery, which features exhibitions of local, national, and international renown. Today, the Star Store continues to be a vital component of downtown New Bedford's emergence as a cultural and academic hub. The Star Store has a wonderful art gallery located on the first floor, through the main entrance. It is open seven days a week, until five o'clock pm and is free to the public. Be sure and check it out before or after stamping in. Driving Directions From Boston and points north and east: * 93 South to 24 South to 140 South. * Take Exit 2E onto I-195 East. * Take Exit 15 (Downtown New Bedford) onto Rt. 18. * At second light, turn right on to Union Street. * Star Store is on left at corner of Union and Purchase streets, across from a Convenience Store. From Providence and points west: * Take 195 East to Exit 15 onto Rt. 18. * Follow directions above. Once at the Star Store, find the main entrance located on Purchase Street. Directly across from the main entrance is the old Sovereign bank building. There is a service door and brick ramp flanked by two boxwood bushes. If you sit on the brick ramp and look under the left boxwood there is a big red patio stone. The letterbox is underneath. This is a highly traveled area so please hide it carefully! --Helpful Hint-- Sit while you are stamping so it looks more nonchalant.
