Degree of Difficulty – easy
Est. Time – about 45 min
Terrain – level trail
Lemoine Point Conservation Area near Kingston airport has a good website. Directions to the area and trail maps can be found here:
www.cataraquiregion.on.ca/lands/lemoine.htm
You will enter at the southern entrance off Front Road. After parking turn left (west) on the Shore trail # 1 heading into the woods past Lemoine Pt farm. The trail will split near a picnic/campfire area, you can turn right here and reconnect with trail 1 further on but you will miss the “Lemoine Point” and "Talking Turtle's Flutterby" letterboxes on the way. So stay left if you want to do all 3. (See directions for ohter 2 boxes.) After finding the first 2 boxes continue on trail 1 past the intersection of trail 3, headin northward as you go. You will come to the first of 2 flat limestone outcroppings (not huge) that intersect the trail. P.U. can be found at the Lemoine Point Conservation Area near Kingston airport. On reaching this spot walk on and look to your right for a tall V with a seat at the apex. Have a seat and face the lake. Looking to your left and slightly behind you will see a tall 20 foot stump with a triangular rock at its base. P.U. is behind the rock. Do not move rock, recover with wood and leaves. Stamp in with black, P.U.’s favourite colour.
