Find the wide spot in the road of Barlow Ohio located west of Marietta, Oh about 13 miles on H.W. 550 or about 5 miles west on H.W. 7 and 9 miles north of Belpre, Oh on H.W. 339.
Difficulty: Very easy
Terrain: Drive up then a fairly short walk on sloped ground.
Time: Less than 15 minutes after you park.
Distance: Less than 50 yards from car to quest and back again.
Please bring your stamp, a stamp pad, pen and an old rag to wipe off the box/your hands.
its hiding spot.
From the flashing light at Barlow, head west on 550 6/10 of a mile to a rest stop on your right. Pull into the rest stop at the far end. From the roofed picnic table take a heading of ~260* and go 50 steps to a concrete and wood object. From the N.E. corner of this object take a heading of ~ 78* and go 48 steps to a leaning tree that branches to two about 15' above ground. From here take a heading of ~ 165* and go 25 steps to another concrete and wood object. Your getting real warm now. Take a heading of ~ 170* and Simon says go approx 8 steps to your quest. Notice the torn up part of the base? There is something not normally found at a rest stop hiding down there behind the bark. Go back to the bench and do your stamping and when done please reseal everything and replace everything as you found it so the Easter egg hunters don't happen on it. There are several other boxes within 3 miles of Barlow and a couple more within 10 so if you have time, spend it around here for an hour or so.
