This letterbox was placed to commemorate the finalization of our daughter's adoption. We are so lucky to have her in our lives, and wanted to celebrate by placing a letterbox in her honor.

The letterbox is located in the Little Blue River Trail Nature Reserve. There are about 12-15 miles of paved/gravel trails suitable for biking and walking. They allow dogs on a leash and this trail can be done with a stroller. During the warmer times of year, there is lots of poison ivy off the trails, so be careful. During warmer weather, I've seen bluebirds and herons along this stretch of river, and the wildflowers are quite pretty.

Directions:
Take I-70 to 291 north. Then take 24 highway east. Turn right onto Lexington Road. If you cross over the Little Blue River, you've gone too far). Park in the gravel parking lot. There is a historical marker on the northeast side and there is also a picnic area. Go east and cross over the tracks of the diesel-powered giant. Be careful, since he is still active along this stretch of tracks. Take the trail to the south. You will cross over a span made of wood and steel. Continue on this trail south. Along the way you will pass a metal candy cane in the field to your right and double tanenbaums. When you get to the "canyon" to your left, count 150-160 footfalls from the far edge. I'm pretty short, so you may not travel quite as many. On your left, there is a very large tree, whose branches drape over the path. At the base of this tree, below a green curtain and some logs, is Boogie's letterbox.

Enclosed in the letterbox is a first-finder's certificate and postcards. If you like, please send us a postcard to add to Boogie's scrapbook and let us know the status of the box.

This trail can be fairly busy in warm weather, so please rehide it well. Take the usual precautions, and be prepared for poison ivy and little blood-suckers.
