With apologies to Norasta:

Westport is a lovely small town north of Kingston. Follow County Rd 10, a beautiful drive, or choose another route, there are many. Westport has great shops, restaurants, B&B’s; the Rideau Trail is just north of the village at Foley Mountain Conservation Area.

Slowpoke was endeavoring to migrate south with the rest of his bigger, stronger companions. But, alas, he wasn’t able to make it to the stream that would carry him down to the lake far below!

As the snow was already starting to fall in these parts, he decided to just snuggle in to a cozy spot between two large, moss covered boulders near to the rushing waters, so as to get an early start next spring, or whenever he decided to get up!

Slowpoke was looking for Dancing Bear atop Foley Mountain near Spyrock when he was overtaken by the chill fall air!

There is a year round fee of $5 per car. The trails are rocky and rough, best to have a dry day for this search.
Please be honest and pay up!

Clues: Follow County Rd 10 thru the west side of town up the mountain. The conservation area will be on your right. Park in the first lot you see on your right. Follow the path to “Spyrock”. Just before you start your wooden descent, you’ll notice a trail on your right marked with blue triangles. Follow this trail into the woods. Continue along this path, crossing over large rocks and leafy paths. Eventually, you’ll cross over a small stream. The area is a little spongy, so watch your footing!

Once on the other side take about 10 steps. On your right you’ll notice a couple of multi-limbed trees and some moss-covered boulders. Slowpoke is sleeping between them under a nice blanket of leaves and a rock weight! Once you have stamped in and securely replaced him, you can either double back to Spy Rock, or continue on the blue path which will intersect the orange marked path. Follow this path toward the cliff edge. This path also returns you to Spy Rock.

The box has no ink or pencil, so bring your own!

Make sure to check out the other boxes located in this area!

Have fun, eh?
