The Sea Serpent
an Urban Letter Box
Difficulty: Easy

Reported missing on 10/30/2010.

Repaired 12/2009 new stamp carved by Kelsung. Thanks!

The Sea Serpent can be found in the Laguna de San Gabriel. The Laguna can be found in Vincent Lugo Park (aka the "Dinosaur Park"), San Gabriel, Thomas Bros. Map page 566 D6. North of the 10 freeway, exit New Ave. Drive north on New Avenue approximately 3/4 of a mile. Turn right at the stop sign on Wells St. The park is on your right. There are two small parking lots off the street. Either will do.

Look for the diamond, but not the sparkly kind! Follow the path around and enter through the portal on the south side to the Laguna de San Gabriel. You have found the Sea Serpent! From the Serpent’s head look along the body toward the tail. Your trusty spyglass would show you a large green electrical box on the distant shore near a light standard, at times, as bright as a lighthouse! Start pacing, bearing 80 magnetic. A total of 110 single step paces you will take. 25 paces reveals The Red Pirate on your left. 32 paces, beware, a blue octopus is on your right. 43 paces, don’t stop at the lighthouse! Steer to the right of the blue whale, 62 paces and the beasts great jaws are on your left. Land Ho! Continue past the pit of horseshoes and find the large green electrical box. The image of the Sea Serpent can be found magnetically attached to the backside of the outlets in a small green metal box.
