STATUS: Unfortunately, this box has been destroyed by vandals. Thanks to all of you who wrote great messages to us about this box!

DIFFICULTY: Moderately easy
DISTANCE to LETTERBOX: 200 yards, very approximately

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: This box is in a woodsy area around White Rock – one of our favorite areas to take kids and dogs and pretend we live in the country. Bring a stick to safely poke into hiding holes!

DIRECTIONS: Follow directions to find the Spillway area of White Rock at Garland Road and Winsted Road.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This was one of 3 “key” boxes we created to plant on Key Allegro on the Gulf Coast…and then found out there was not one inch of public property! Back in Dallas we planted this box in a great spot near a retired box “Fish ‘n’ Falls”( created by Linda & Christy), only to have a new chain link fence cut off safe access. We hope we’ve found a safe and final resting place for this box. Even if you have previously found MISSING KEY#2, please come find this box again – the stamp is the same, but we’ve added something we hope you’ll enjoy!

CLUES: Park in the first parking lot on the right after you turn from Garland Road to Winsted Road. Walk along the biking/jogging path past the first bridge on your right until you see the sign for the old fish hatchery. Enter on that pebble trail and walk about 200 yards until you reach the intersection of paths in a large clearing with a bench on your left and a stone marker (which used to hold a plaque honoring Ada Henderson, a great birdwatcher) ahead of you on the right.
Take the path to the right, and about 20 paces along you will see a concrete square formation on the embankment at the left. Under a piece of concrete and blackened wood is the letterbox. Please replace the concrete and wood to hide this box – winter will blow away the leaves and leave it exposed!

P.S. – Did you notice the rabbit hole next to the concrete formation??? Reminded us of Alice in Wonderland...
