Wacinton—Paducah, KY

In 1985, sculptor Peter Toth hand chiseled a 56,000 pound red oak into “Wacinton”—a monument to the Chickasaw Indians who lived and hunted in the area until the Jackson Purchase. The magnificent sculpture can be found on Park Avenue, east of the castle-like entrance to Noble Park.

To find the Wacinton letterbox, first find the nature trail of Noble Park. Find the Shumark Oak that is labeled as such. The post that labels the tree is very close to the base of the tree. Between the post and the tree, carefully covered with leaves, lies the letterbox.
