Directions to Champoeg State Park (day use fee park):
From I-5, exit at Aurora (exit# 282), west on Ehlen Rd 3.4 mi., rt. on Case Rd 2.2 mi. Rt. into park, left just past fee booth, rt. toward Pioneer Mother's Cabin and Townsite trail. Park by Mother's cabin.
Clues:
Start at the sidewalk entrance to PIONEER MOTHER'S MEMORIAL CABIN. Multiply the number of letters by the number of words in the name. Pace East the product to the Champoeg Townsite Trail. Travel along the Champoeg Townsite Trail, which turns into DeGrasse St., to the intersection of the president who authorized the purchase of the Louisiana Territory and DeGrasse St. Stand at the intersection post facing N by NE. Cross the meadow towards the river. When you get to the second path turn right and follow. From the entrance to the trees count approx 15 paces in. The letterbox is in the bottom of the backside of the 5 ft, tall stump on the right of the path.
