Tiptoe Through the Tulips
Rated:Easy, 5 minutes, mildly hilly
Sorry, no dogs allowed :-(

Clues:
Find the Rose Garden in the "Rose of New England"

Stop to smell the roses. It is a beautiful garden, and roses are beautiful flowers. But why should they get all the attention? There are so many other lovely flowers out there to enjoy. Like my favorite, tulips.

To find your tulip, go back to the parking lot and cross the street. Take the trail that starts at the road a few yards in front of the speed limit sign. At the fork, go left. Next is a 4 way intersection; stay straight. A path will enter on the right, just stay straight and continue downhill. At the bottom of the hill is a seasonal stream with a metal pipe. Cross the stream and stand at the pipe. Continue 30 paces(left foot only) down the trail and look left. There will be a 2-truncked tree right next to the path. Stand at that tree and take a compass heading of about 330 degrees, or straight up the hill. 15-20 feet in front of you will be 2 large rocks leaning on one another, with some smaller rocks between them. Your tulip is hidden here, in this rock garden, between the large rocks, behind the small ones. To return, just retrace your steps. Please rehide well, this path does get used often.
