Peach Water Tower
Difficulty: Easy (Drive-by)

THIS LETTERBOX IS RETIRED.

The city of Byron is located just about fifteen miles south of Macon in Peach County--the heart of Georgia's peach growing center. This softly rolling landscape is heavily cultivated in peach and pecan orchards and small cotton farms. Byron’s big event held annually is the Peach Festival in mid-June.

Right after the exit for Byron on I-75 there is a huge water tower painted to look like a peach. The tower is on the northbound side of the interstate and can be easily reached for photographs by taking the Byron exit (#149).

To reach the actual peach water tower, take the appropriate (and obvious) road from the same exit on the other side of the interstate.
