The Conservatory of Flowers Series

These boxes will be planted the day before the Golden Gate Gathering. Box 1 is probably stroller accessible (can you stroller through a small field?). Box 2 is up a steep hill, but is otherwise stroller accessible until you duck away from the path to find the box. Box 3 is stroller accessible all the way (but also the most likely to be busy, so be extra careful not to be seen).

Box #1
Walk up towards the Conservatory of Flowers and veer left towards the restrooms. Go up the path past the restrooms and cross "Conservatory" street. You will come to a grassy field on your left after a bunch of picnic tables on your right. Go left into the field. In the middle there is an opening near a rose on the ground. Go through the opening and go left into the clearing. In the middle of the clearing to the South is an old rotten log that hides the letterbox.

Box #2
Go back the way you came towards the restrooms. Make a right on Conservatory and follow it down to John F. Kennedy. Cross JFK and take the steepest path through the trees. Go left at the fork. Go left again. Then go right. Then go left. Stay to your right and continue down the path. Do not take the available fork to your right. On your left will be a clearing with a zig zag of paths and some rocks and numbered trees. Behind tree #04-185 is a flattened stump. Behind the stump is the letterbox under a log.

Box #3
Find your way back to the Conservatory of Flowers. Go down the little road that runs behind the statue of Garfield. Go right up the path at the lamp post. Go left at the first fork, and left again at the second. When a fence begins on your left, there will be a rock formation that might make a good bench on your right. In the middle of this formation is some smaller rocks that conceal the letterbox.

Update: As of 9/30/04, box #2 is confirmed missing :(
