Through my letterboxing experience I have been exposed to many wonderful little parks and slices of nature. I accidently found this park nearby and thought this deserved a letterbox to bring people to share this mini-wetland nature trail.
The box is located in Theis Attaway Park, Tomball, TX
Directions: Take Theis Rd off of FM-249. You can say you are going between Wells Fargo and Blockbuster (or Hobby Lobby and Walmart). After a few blocks the park appears on your left.
Park is open 5am to 10pm and dont expect to see many humans, its highly under utilized!
To the box:
Follow entrance trail until it splits. Take the trail to the left.
Pass the water fountains and restrooms! Walk along trail until you see bench. The area on your right (behind above landmarks) is where we saw rabbits during our first visit, so the stamp will make sense!
Ok, you made it to the bench. Now based on your legs size you will walk 30-40 steps to where a tree butts up against the left side of the trail. Now take another 7-8 steps on the trail and stop. Look to your left into the woods and see a large tree that splits into two. The box is wedged in the split from the backside. Be sure to place back in the split so its not visible from trail!
Afterwards follow the trail (its a loop) and enjoy the sites. Bring binoculars or camera if into birds. Watch for bunnies!
