Wake Robin is a lovely eighty acre park used by the local school district for environmental studies. The staff is happy to have our letterboxes there but has asked that you be especially mindful of your impact while you are enjoying the area. Be sure to print a copy of the trail map before you go:

To the trailhead: Go west from Longview on route 4, Ocean Beach Highway. Watch for the Shell station on the left. The next light is Coal Creek Road where you will turn right. You will pass the general store in two miles and then go left at the next road, Carlon Loop. Wake Robin is directly across the bridge. If the gate is locked, park outside the gate. If the gate is unlocked you can park inside but it might be a good idea to check with the staff to see when they are leaving so you don't get locked in.

To the letterbox:

Out the gate or through the stile
Cross the span in single file

Once across, a hairpin turn
Amble down where waters churn

A downstream path leads the way
A stump and rails, time to play!

Five steps up, quadruplets right
One's supine, you're at the site

Behind ferny fronds, at woody feet
'neath bark and leaves, a special treat
