REPORTED WET AND DAMAGED FALL 2007- PLEASE REBAG AND UPDATE
Kensington Haiku
(this stamp was originally box no. one in the "Ken Sings, 'Kensington!'" series. Although the park and the stamp are the same, the clues and logbook are not.)
Seek out trail wildwing
By the park's nature center
This is where you start
Pine trees line your way
Trees that seem to smile at you
Continue along
In winter it stands,
Silently against the snow
Shelter it offers
Walk past that small house
Back into the green forest
The path becomes steep
The bridge spans nothing
No water glistens below
Ferns are a river
Fourty-two steps now
From the end of that old bridge
Soon you will be there
Look right, a tall stump
sixteen paces at due north
You must be touching
Now sixty degrees
Two fallen logs make a V
About four feet out
Hidden under bark
Camouflaged box in that V
Please replace safely
*******
The part where I go "blah blah blah"
$4 entry fee to park. Wednesdays are free.
Dogs are not allowed on this particular trail.
Unless you're looking for a workout, the trail is not really stroller friendly.
