**I haven't been able to letterbox in over 5 years. I am pretty sure this box has gone missing. Anyone who would like to "adopt" this box is free to do so. I can even get the image of the stamp for you if you'd like to replace it.**

This letterbox was placed by Shutterfly and Wiener Mouse and is located in Cherry Valley’s Bauman Park. You can get into Bauman Park by taking Bypass 20 to Mill Road. Turn south off of Bypass 20 onto Mill. Turn left off of Mill to State Street (brick road) and go over the bridge. After you pass the old white schoolhouse (by the baseball park) on your right, turn right. The entrance to the park is down that road.

When you get into the park, note the speed limit that is posted. From the entrance to the park, drive to the third parking lot on your right, past the open field, and leave your car there.

From the parking lot, look around to find the telephone; when you find it, walk to it. There is a bike/walking path in front of the phone. You will want to take it to the west.
Quick! Find out what the smallest size of Northern Pike is that you could take home with you, should you decide to go fishing.
Continue walking on the path, but don’t go too far, because you need to find out how many species of native grasses and wildflowers once stretched across the Midwest. After you are through reading, continue on the path until you reach a gazebo. Before passing it, note the number of pillars holding it up. As you resume your walk, make sure to take the main path.
You will notice a hexagonal trash can before you reach a hill. Once you are at the top of the hill, you will see its twin on the right side of the trail, and a bench on the left side. Stop and take a seat, while pondering how many bolts hold the bench together. While you are thinking, gaze across the lake, directly east from where you are sitting, to catch sight of yet another trash can. That can is where you want to travel to, remember its location. Either rest for a moment on the bench, or continue on your way.

When you reach the trash can, do not continue past it. Hopefully you have been keeping track of your numbers, because now you have work to do.

Take the Northern Pike size you found and multiply it by the number of pillars on the gazebo. Add to the product the number of bolts holding the bench together and the park’s speed limit. What is the number you get? _______ Walk approximately that many paces beyond the trash can. If you have walked one pace for every species of native wildflower and grass once in the Midwest, you have gone too far.

When you stop you will see a bench on the right side of the path. While sitting on this bench, look over your right shoulder to find a small trail leading downhill through the grass. Follow this trail past the eight-trunked tree (be careful, there are geocachers lurking about!) to a barbed wire fence. With the eight-trunked tree to your left and the fence directly in front of you, you should see another tree on the opposite side of the fence, almost touching it, leaning toward the south. Your prize is at the bottom of that tree.

Please be discreet when looking for the letterbox, as this path if fairly busy throughout the day. Make sure to hide it as well or better than the person before you. There are plenty of sticks and bark pieces around it, so you won’t have to search hard for more. Also, you will want to bring your own ink. More than one color might be helpful...hint hint.
