Hundreds of thousands of visitors flock to Garner State Park each year to swim in the clear waters of the Frio River and scoot its rapids on inner tubes. Add hiking, camping and evening dances and you have the makings of a great summer vacation. So come enjoy Rio Frio, both the river and the microbox.

Directions:
Garner State Park is located 31 miles north of the town of Uvalde, 9 miles south of Leakey, or 8 miles north of Concan on the Frio River. From HWY 83, turn east on FM 1050 for .2 miles to Park Road 29 to the new entrance.

Clues:
Before Entrance Station, turn right and park in lot. Walk to the north end of the lot to the Nature Trail head and walk about 400 yards until you come to a wooden bridge. Don't cross; turn around and go back down the trail 55 steps. Look left (west) for a large, muti-trunk cedar tree about 5 steps from the trail. Look behind the farthest trunk about 3 feet off the ground for the microbox hidden in a branch under bark and stones. Please re-cover well.
