Ocqueoc Falls LbNA #8845 (ARCHIVED)

This is the only waterfall in the lower penninsula if you can believe it! It is a pretty little falls and was more impressive until they added some swimming holes but then, now you can take a dip too!! The access to the falls is off M68 between Rogers City and Onaway. When you drive in to the parking lot on one end of the lot is a sign directing you to the falls. Walk to the edge of the falls. This is the upper falls. Enjoy the view and soak your feet.

To find the letterbox:
From the falls proceed upriver along the river's edge footpath. Watch out for poison ivy. You will go under the bridge to the other side. As you proceed you will come across a brick/rock wall. If you go past it there is a trail forking off and up to the right. Take that. It wraps around the other side of the wall. As you pass the wall again it will dip down a bit and there will be a hollow depression or pit to your right. It that pit is a log and under that is where you will find the box.

Please replace carefully so it doesn't looked disturbed. If you go up the stairs it will take you to a field that leads back to upper falls. Enjoy. There is also a series of nature trails off the parking lot if you want a longer visit (about 6 miles worth).
