Take I-40 to exit #259 and take State Highway 150 South about 14 miles to Lake Eufala State Park. Lake Eufala is the largest lake in Oklahoma and the 5th largest man made lake in the United States. There are numerous campgrounds and cabins available for an enjoyable time on this lake if you have time to enjoy that!
Go through the park on highway 150 and turn east just past the Visitor Center and drive to the nature trail parking area at the entrance to the Deep Fork Campground Area #2. Park and walk across the street to the Crazy Snake Nature Trailhead. Read about Chitto Harjo then begin on the trail. You will pass "Wildlife Habitat" on the paved trail, also "wildflower" and "Food for wildlife not for people"....and pass a bench, cross the "Hummingbird Beach Trail" and come to a choice - stay on the pavement and follow the trail to the Eco Pond. Sit and enjoy the "eco" then stand with your back to the bench and take 4 paces. Look to your right over a brush pile and spot a tree with four trunks. Walk around the brush pile to the tree and find the Sac n Fox Letterbox in the middle of the hickory!
