The city of Jenison is located Southwest of Grand Rapids just inside Ottawa County.

******07/29/09***** This series has been pulled due to disrepair. Hopefully it will be replaced.

Grand River Park is located on 28th Ave. off Fillmore St. in Georgetown Township. It can be reached off I-196. From the East, exit at #69B, merge onto Chicago Drive (M-21). From the West, take exit #69, turn left at the bottom of the ramp. Proceed West on Chicago Dr. to Cottonwood Dr. (second traffic signal). North (right) on Cottonwood. At the next traffic signal go straight. Continue on Cottonwood to the end where it will bend to the left and become Fillmore. Second street on the right is 28th Ave. Follow it almost to the end and you will see the entrance to the park on your left.

Some of the trails at Grand River Park can be seen from far away. Please be sure to be discreet when searching for, stamping, and replacing these boxes. Thank you.

Ardwyad (the protector), in the distant past during the great mists of the valley, well before the 4 legged, 4 armed carriers of energy marched through the valley, was given charge of the regions now known as Michigan. While in the valley of what is now the Grand River, Ardwyad set loose three travelers; Ailein (from the green meadow),Ceith (wood dweller), and Aillig (from the stony place) to inhabit the valley in the present Grand River Park. Apardwyad (son of protector) later located the three travelers and left directions for Celtic followers to find the travelers. What follows is the set of directions used by Apardwyad to find the three.

Journey starts at the trailhead - you'll march 2 to 3.
Then follow the pheasants, now get on with thee!
Aha! There's a choice; best head on toward the 6
And on to another choice...now there's a fix!
There is a bare post - plain - no marked places.
From there, 80 degrees and take 28 paces.
Now look to the South, pace out 6, in you go.
Find AILEIN the first traveler by the log lying low.
Get ye back to the trail for Easterly travel.
When given the option, one might follow the gravel.
Many trails come together, you'll stand at the mouth.
Find two unmarked posts that line up North and South.
Between the post that is South and the one nearest to it,
Stand. Then 42 paces at 225; that should do it!
Of course you can see the great giant beech!
Approach that great tree and then you must reach
Beneath its nose and close to its toes.
Downwed logs and branches? CEITH dwells among those!
It's back to the intersection; which way to go?
There are so many numbers both high and low!
The lowest number shows the way to your quest.
At the choice you must go opposite of West.
You will come to a "T", and NE you will wend.
It won't be too long now and your search will end.
Stand at the culvart facing the "softer" way.
To the second stony place go, but don't plan to stay.
Take a couple of steps past, and then look to the right.
Follow the slightly used path just a mite.
Logs and sticks in a jumble are found near the "X".
AILIEG is the traveler you will find next!
Ardwyad and Apardwyad would be happy to know
You found the three travelers! Now back you go,
On to the hard path; you'll wander afar.
Then follow the boardwalk right back to your car!

If you want to go to Hager Park from Grand River Park, 28th Ave. doesn't go through. Turn left (East) from 28th Ave. onto Fillmore. Fillmore to 24th Ave. turn right (South). 24th Ave. to Bauer Rd, turn right (West). Bauer Rd. to 28th Ave., turn left (South). Park entrance on the left.
