***Alas, I think that this box has gone missing. It was reported missing on 5/31/08 but I haven't checked myself. If anyone spots it let me know***
Terrain level; Easy walk, great for kids and dogs.
Not accessible in the snow.
Hand Carved stamp with the Mountain Trails Foundation Logo.
Directions
Take I-80 to the Kimball Junction/Park City/HWY224 exit. Head towards Park City.
Go past the Olympic Sports Park, past Park City nursery, past the Canyons and Just a little ways past The Colby School on the left hand side you will see a dirt trail. There are places to pull over and park by the side of the road, but I have had feedback that some of it now says NO PARKING, so keep an eye out for those signs. The trail runs along the road for quite a ways there. The trail is called The McLeod Creek trail. Follow The McLeod Creek trail away from Park City [back towards Kimball Junction] Go over two bridges and after the second bridge you will soon see a sluice gate for the stream. Where that sluice gate makes a "V" we have hidden a letterbox under a flat reddish rock.
Good Hunting!
