You have the opportunity to hunt for New York's crappiest stamp! That's right! OK, it was my first attempt at carving, and I figured Schenectady County needed another box, so I couldn't bear to waste a stamp, no matter how bad it was.
This box is located at Sander's Preserve, in Glenville, NY. Start at the trailhead on Sander's Road. Follow along the trail. You'll pass a labelled sugar maple and white ash on your right, and then a "Caution: Housing Area" sign. At the sign, bear left on the path. Pass a rockpile on the left; the trail forks to the left just beyond this pile. At the Pt. B sign at the fork, go 32 paces at 140 degrees, and then 18 paces at 220 degrees over the rockpile. (Be careful of the poison ivy!). At the base of the rockpile (and hopefully at your feet) there is a large flat rock-NY's crappiest stamp hides underneath it.
