Rotary Park

8/20/04 Box was replaced.
Bring ink pad and pen.

Directions: From I-64 take exit 15 (U.S. 60/29th Street) and go north on U.S. 60/29th St. for about 2.2 miles. The entrance to the park will be on your left just past Roby Road, south of 8th Ave. When you turn into the park entrance keep driving always bearing to the right up the hill (giving thanks that you aren't walking) and park in the uppermost parking lot near the large stone & sign which reads "Trails Area".

Clues: In the north east corner of the parking lot is the trailhead. Follow the paved trail for about 274 paces(1pace = 2 steps). If your pace differs from mine don't fret, just go till you pass 2 picnic areas on your right and stop on the paved trail when you come to a large anchor cable for one of the towers on the top of the hill. (The paved trail should make a hard bend to the left at this point)
Standing on the north side of the cable, take a compass reading of 265 degrees and walk 19 paces. You should be near the beginning of a path leading into the brush. Follow the path for 13 paces or untill you cross over the top of a fallen tree. Now follow the trunk of this fallen tree to it's stump. Look there for the letterbox. When you are done make sure you make your way to the top of the hill and climb the observation tower.
