We have had a time with this box; AND WHEN CHECKED ON 10/04/05, IT WAS AGAIN MISSING.

May we suggest that the ranch is a wonderful place for a stroll and that there is a fine place for lunch by the river.

The Dorris Ranch is located at the end of South 2nd in Springfield, Oregon. While following the paths, look for the many plants, trees, flowers, animals, and birds. (It's a good location to spot silver gray squirrels in the distance.) It's an easy walk for "tired feet": Only 1 1/2 miles round trip. Just watch out for poison oak.

From the right hand parking, pass between two buildings, then view a "nutty harvester". Ease through the gate by the kiosk. Look for "forty horses" and what they might pull. You'll soon see a huge maple supporting a community of fern, but that's before you take the River Trail. Where people stop and say, "Lunch time", be sure to stop and catch the view.--"Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts."--Rachel Carson.

Find a log that won't be moved.
Now take 10 steps East...,AND..
With back to the river and to a tree,
Look ahead and hope to see,
Where a little bird lives,
On the side of a tree.

While under its' house, look down and around to find the box. Congratulations! You found the box!

While here, you can enjoy some (or all) of the other trails. So take your time and have a great experience.
