This is a micro-letterbox. You will be looking for small container. (P.S. This is not a geo-cache! Don't take the contents. If you don't know the difference between regular letterboxes and geo-cache, please read up on it on the official LbNA site.)

History

"Algona 150" is in honor of the city of Algona's Sesquicentennial (150th)Anniversary. They will be celebrating July 8-11, 2004.
From it's first settlers, Asa and Ambrose Call, Algona's population has grown to nearly 6000 residents. The city sits on a mound, bordered on three sides by the beautiful Des Moines River and surrounded by rich farm ground. Algona has many fine parks. They offer many attractions such as basketball and vollyball courts, a remote control race car track, a scateboarding area, icescating, playgrounds and more. They also have a new aquatic center.

Location

Algona is located at the crossroads of U.S. Highway 169 and 18. The micro-box is hidden in Call City Park. This park is the location where Asa Cyrus Call and his wife, the first white woman in Kossuth County, erected the first dwelling in the county. The small park is at 300 E. North St. It is on the corner of E. North St. and Thorington.
When you have located the park, go to the large memorial boulder in the center of the park. The micro-box is hidden behind some stones in an opening on the right side of the cement base of the boulder. Be sure to replace the micro-box in the back of the space and behind the stones to keep critters from getting at it.
As always, please be discreet when finding and replacing the letterbox.

Please email me and let me know you have found my letterbox and what it's condition is. Thanks! and enjoy! kdrowe@mainstaycomm.net
