Box is located at the 2nd Bench Lake (better than first lake. No office trail past first lake, but easy path to follow to get to it.
Directions:
From Stanley, go south on Hwy 75 for about 4 miles, then turn right on road to Redfish Lodge. Go around turning circle heading for lodge, then at next junction (Lodge to right), go straight and then quick right into parking area.
To the Letterbox
From parking area follow sign for Trail and cross road to Hiking Kiosk for Redfish Lake. Take the trail going up. At first junction, turn left and cross creek, then continue gradual climb (with views eventually of Redfish lake to your left). After 3 miles reach sign on right for Bench Lakes. Turn right and continue to the first lake. Go left of the lake and through open area and down to far end of first lake. Pick up trail and continue up the hill and soon you will reach the 2nd lake. Go left along shore (may have to log hop as they have not cleared trail from downed trees) until about 2/3 way down lake and large 10 foot flat rock on right edge of trail (we ate hear with great views). Go another 15 steps, then look left for larges pine at edge of slope going up. Go to the back base of that tree (5 feet away) and under 8 inch rock.
