Sorry to say, only the final box, "The Merry Wanderer" is still in place. I doubt that I will replace the others. So I am rewording the clues for "The Merry Wanderer" and deleting the others.
CLUE DIFFICULTY-Medium
WALK-easy and child friendly (we had a 3 year old
along when we planted them)
BOX SIZE-all but the last are very small! The last has room for a hiker.
Supplies Needed: The usual, pencil, stamp pads, log book, wipes. We recommend four different stamp colors, one for each season
PLEASE BE DISCREET! PLEASE REHIDE BOXES VERY CAREFULLY! THANKS
Please use care when removing the boxes from thickets,
looking for beasties and poison ivy. There were none
when the boxes were planted, but things do spread
and get about out in nature!
Box 4 - "The Merry Wanderer"
You can't go home again, at least not to
this farm home which is now offices.
Find this homebound cozy office building and
Go to the nearby parking lot.
See the sign for the nature trek?
Follow the line of memories
(Look at the rocks beneath the trees)
Jack , then Dewayne, Dalton and Mae
With your back to Mae,
You'll see the dirt path that leads the way.
From the start of the trail take 6 bunny hops
Now six Cyclops stomps
Look up high to where the bat stops
Right under the bat's inn
This used to be my home in olden day,
But from here I was wont to stray.
So sally forth and tally ho
Down the dirt path we further go!
Stop at the 1st fork and look at right and high.
Another bat house you can spy.
But of the two paths which should you we travel.
The straight and narrow my sometimes be right.
But this time left if right.
If, dear friends you still don’t get my drift
Adroit you should shift.
Travel this path til on your right a house for critters
Hangs on a tree for bat or bird sitters.
A pace for two takes you to a backyard or woods fork
Turn sharp to the right on the path to the woods
ABC and 1-2-3
Follow this trail with me
Until you spy the arms of fallen giants to your right.
These signal that the end of this quest is in sight.
Keep on going til Quint marks the crest of a rocky hill
Take 5 baby bunny hops til a root brings you to a stand still
Take 30 steps at a mincing pace
To a stony standing place.
Down the hill you should see a brackish water
Stop, not that way…look to left, then your hotter.
See the giant in the green velvet boot?
Your prize is in a hidey hole made by its root.
Over the leafy, branch strewn ground
To the front left side of the giant’s trunk your treasure is found
Under lichen festooned branches it is bound
If you followed our clues with patience and cunning
You'll have finished your puzzle; isn't it stunning!
