Shapiro Park is a small. but lovely park located on the UW Oshkosh campus along the river. The dedication is tied to a tragic event, but out of it came the will to clean this area up from its earlier industrial roots. We aren't entirely sure, but we think the Green Fund marker commemorates this effort as well. The fund exists to support student-sponsored sustainability projects.

To fid the park, you must get on Pearl Ave as it runs through the UW campus. Either from the southeast or northwest, you must turn into parking Lot 5. Pass the Environmental Research and Innovation Center on your left. Drive straight into the lot towards the row of cedar trees to park. Avoid permit only marked stalls.

Walk away from the water along the cedar tree line. Turn left at the opening and see a historical marker for Shapiro Park.

Walk into the clearing and towards the rock circle, count all the stones: A
Count the leaves on the Green Fund marker: B
Look around for a birdhouse, it has a number painted on it: C
Sum A+B+C=___

Take a compass reading of 340 degrees as you stand in the opening of the rocks.
Count out the number of paces from the sum above in this direction.
Turn right and look under the long needle pine tree. There are rocks at the base in the back.
