THIS BOX WAS REPORTED MISSING 9/04.

On the southern tip of Charleston is White Point Gardens in Battery Park. Once the site where pirates hung from gallows, it is now the most romantic and tranquil spot in the city. Hundreds of couples get married every year in this park. The map provided by the Charleston Visitor Center will help if you have trouble finding it.

The west side and the south side of the park are guarded by cannons. On the SE perimeter between these cannons is the monument to the confederate defenders of Fort Sumter (1861-65). Diagonally from this monument toward the center of the park is the monument to the defenders of Fort Moultrie (June 28th 1776). Take the path to the right of this monument to the second tree on the left. Within this tree lies the letterbox.

Note: This is a heavily visited park, so be discreet. Also, as is, the box is a tight fit in this tree trunk. If you are able to switch it into a smaller box, that would be great. Just let me know. Bring your own stamp.
