ARCHIVED: I believe the second version of this box has gone missing. I no longer reside in San Diego, so I will not be replacing it. Thank you to everyone who has visited!

UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who let me know about the cracked and leaking container. I have replaced both the box and the log book on January 4, 2011; the stamp remains the same :)

The “Tea Time” letterbox is located in the Scripps Coastal Reserve at UCSD.

Clue: Exit from I-5 to La Jolla Village Drive and go west. Turn left on La Jolla Shores Dr. and right on the first street after that (La Jolla Farms Rd). Go very slowly and on your left you will see the tiny entrance into the reserve.

Take the path right of the wooden sign. Sit awhile at the logs to admire the giant mansion, the Scripps Pier, and the Pacific Ocean. Take the first path that leads inland. On one side of the trail is a metal sign post that reads "Flat Top Buckwheat" and directly on the other side is a group of short, soft-looking bushes. Look at the tallest of the bunch, then drop your gaze down: do you see an opening between the plants? Reach in to find the Tea Time Letterbox nested in the branches.

PLEASE hide the letterbox far enough into the bush so that passerby do not notice it, but not so far as to be lost to future letterboxers. Thanks!
