The Chehalis Western Trail is one of my favorite hangouts. My friend and I go biking on it quite often and we love it. Right now it runs from Yelm down to Woodard Bay. It's a great trail for walking, biking, or skating... this section is completely paved and an easy walk. It's beautiful!

So, at Firtree Road there is a parking lot for the Chehalis Western Trail. From the parking lot, head toward Lacey. So, from the parking lot, when you get to the trail, go left, do not cross Firtree Road...

There are mile posts every half mile. In between mile post 12 and 11.5 there is a gas pipeline. Toward your left goes uphill, and the right heads downhill. On your right you will see a large fir tree, (now I should tell you that I really don't know my trees all that well, so it's an evergreen and my friend said it was a fir.... but don't criticize too much if it's a slightly different variety. Thanks) This fir is taller than the other trees in the area, and fairly easy to spot. At it's base is Tribute to MC Escher Fish #1

Be discreet as you enjoy the contents....

From there, head back the way you came and at mile post 12, there is another fir tree, much smaller, and on a slight hill. Behind the fir tree there are 2 stones, and behind the stones is #2.

Enjoy!
