This set is located in Peavy Arboretum. Peavy Arboretum is located about 4 miles north of Corvallis off of Hwy 99W on Arboretum Road. The Arboretum is part of Oregon State University McDonald Research Forest. The history of the area is actually very interesting. You can find out more about it at http://www.cof.orst.edu/resfor/arbo/purpose.sht

This is a mild walk with some up hill. There are some restrictions on mountain bikes so be sure to check before you ride. Its a beatiful walk with forest trails and old growth forests. The forest took some damage from the ice and snow but is still a super place to walk the dog, jog or just take a stroll.

The set consists of 3 stamps. You will be working as a paleontologist, so you will not only need to find the stamps (bones) but you will have to put them (the bones) back together in the right order. So follow the clues and have fun. Some tips, it will be easier to re-assemble the bones if you find the boxes in the order given. There are maps provided at information kiosks and lots of signs. Reading the "signs" is the key to solving the clues! Reading the "signs" is the key to solving the clues!
Hmm, I wonder why he said that twice?

Box#1, Take a stroll in the “woodland.” At the top of a slight rise you will want to stop for some “air.” “Take a deep breath!” Now look up and you will see a very old stump that is green with moss. In the belly of the old stump you will find your first bones. Follow the instructions in the stamp book to assemble your find. IF the box is not totaly covered it will be vulnerable, so please leave it hidden better than you found it.

Box#2, Your done in the "woodland" so move on but be sure to use “Caution”,because of “Deep water.” Not to worry, there is a "ladder." Stand on the “Ladder” and look out over the “Deep water.” What you seek is hidden under what you see. Under the corner farthest from you to be exact.

Box#3, Find the “Big wheel” next to the “cabin.” Read about the big wheel and take note of its passenger. Now turn around and start walking off to your left you will find the twin to the big wheel’s passenger. The last piece to your puzzle is hidden at its east end, under the north side, snuggled against the base, under a piece of wood.

I hope you enjoyed this set. Please e-mail me and let me know how the boxes are doing. I am also interested to know if all the bones fit like they were supposed to.

There is a rumor that there is a bonus box in the area. But without the clues your just a fish out of water.
