The answers to the questions in the clues for this webbox are located in Moores Creek National Battlefield in far southeastern North Carolina. Letterboxes are not allowed to be physically placed in national parks and monuments and other sites administered by the U. S. National Park Service. So, I have created this webbox. You must actually visit the area of the clues; however, you need to go to the Web to obtain your finders stamp.
Go to Moores Creek National Battlefield and park by the visitor center.
Find the History Trail which starts behind the Visitor Center. Look for the interpretive sign titled “Road to Independence”. In the top paragraph (starts with the words “It is peaceful …), in the 4th line, what is the 2nd word _____?
Now, continue to walk on the History Trail and find the colorful interpretive sign titled “A Trap is Set”. In the paragraph on the left under the title (starts with the words “Patriots established a …”), in the 4th line, what is the 6th word _____?
To create the mystery word, put the word from the second question on the end of the word from the first question (without spaces). Paste the mystery word (all letters lower case) into this URL (replacing the question marks “???” with the mystery word):
