The answers to the questions in the clues for this webbox are located in John Day Fossil Beds National Monument in north central Oregon. Letterboxes are not allowed to be physically placed in national parks and monuments and other sites administered by the U. S. National Park Service. So, I have created this webbox. You must actually visit the area of the clues; however, you need to go to the Web to obtain your finders stamp.

Go to the Sheep Rock Unit of Navajo National Monument. From the Thomas Condon Paleontology Center and Visitor Center, drive a few miles north on State Highway 19 to the Blue Basin Area and park there. This is a picnic area and trailhead with restrooms.

Walk on the shorter Island in Time Trail. At the first interpretive sign titled “Trailhead Orientation”, in the first paragraph on the right (under the subtitle “Island In Time Trail”) (paragraph starts with the words ”The trail to …”), in the 5th line, what is the 1st word _____?

Now, continue walking up this trail and look for a colorful interpretive sign titled “An Ageless Tortoise””. In the first paragraph on the left just under the title (starts with the words “Entombed in volcanic …”), in the 2nd line, what is the 5th word _____?
