Walking distance: about 0.1 mile one way
Trail difficulty: moderately easy, paved trail but some ups and downs.

The answers to the questions in the clues for this webbox are located in Little River Canyon National Preserve in northeastern Alabama. Letterboxes are not allowed to be physically placed in national parks, monuments, preserves and other sites administered by the U. S. National Park Service. So, I have created this webbox. You must actually visit the area of the clues; however, you need to go to the Web to obtain your finders stamp.

Go to Little River Canyon National Preserve. Southeast of the Little River Canyon Visitor Center, just east of the river bridge, on the south side of State Highway 35 is the Little River Falls viewing and picnic area. Park in the big lot by the information kiosk.

At the kiosk, find the interpretive sign titled “Indians, Settlers, and Tourists”. In the paragraph on the left under the title (starts with the words “Little River Canyon has …”), in the 7th line, what is the 4th word _____?

Now, walk down to the falls overlook by stairs or ramp. Find the interpretive sign titled “Little River Falls”. In the 1st paragraph on the left under the title (starts with words “Over millions of …”), in the 1st line, what is the 8th word _____?

To create the mystery word, put the word from the second question on the end of the word from the first question (without spaces). Paste the mystery word (all letters lower case) into this URL (replacing the question marks “???” with the mystery word):

http://nostalgia.esmartkid.com/???.html

Now, plug/paste/type the new URL into your web browser and you will have completed your search for the Little River Canyon Preserve Webbox.

Please record your find at www.letterboxing.org/ .
