WARNING...THIS BOX HAS AGAIN GONE MISSING. This microbox is located in the Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary in the Memorial/Spring Branch section of Southwest Houston. Mrs. Moore donated her log cabin home and 17 acres of land along Rummel Creek to the Houston Audubon Society. It is a wonderful hidden treasure, open to the public, and offering everything form toddler nature story hours to "Owl Prowls"...guided nighttime walks to try to find this most elusive of birds. There are lots trails, birds, turtles, and snakes to be seen, and now a letterbox to find!

DIRECTIONS: The Sanctuary is located at 440 Wilchester, Houston TX 77079. From I-10 exit Wilcrest, go south, and turn left on Memorial drive. Turn right on Wilchester, the parking is the second drive on the left. For further questions contact the Audubon Docent Guild at 713-464-4900.

CLUES: Park in the lot, and run to the front of the log cabin to borrow a map (please be sure to return it when you are ready to leave!) Look around the pond area, and when you are ready to hunt start at the white sign in the parking lot that depicts a frog and a snake. Take the path that passes to the left of the cabin straight back past the pond area (to your right) until you see the bridge that crosses Rummel Creek. Then follow these clues:

Cross over the bridge, look ahead and you'll see
that you have arrived at a very large tree.
It's surrounded by logs; now veer to the right
and pass a green sign that is very polite.
Walk on and look right for a green number six
then cross over a bridge that crosses over fallen sticks.
Kepp on the trail with the creek to your right,
The treasure you seek is nearly in sight.
Veer to the left on the wooden walkway,
On your right pass a marker, "8" it will say.
Walk, walk, and walk to reach the "creekside" sign,
Now turn around and walk back steps that number 29.
Look to your right to see a fallen tree,
in the big knothole facing the sky is where the treasure will be.

Please e mail me and let me know the status of this box. Happy hunting!
