On Oct. 4, 2003, the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection held an event at one of it's State Forests marking the 100th anniversary of state forests in our state. The event stamp for that day is a tribute to the fact that the CT DEP has embraced our hobby by placing a letterbox in all of the state forests. They have also made a patch available to any boxers stamping in to 5 of their boxes and a walking stick to those who obtain all of them. After considering all the options available, I have decided to make this stamp my personal traveler. While there is a percentage of letterboxers who feel that event stamps should be retired after the event, I would like to continue to make this stamp available. Swamp Yankee's inspiration for the design, combined with undying faith in my carving ability, helped me produce the stamp showing all of the images from the DEP letterboxes.
The next time you see me, if you'd like the stamp, just come tell me how many State Forests there are in CT.
Thanks and Happy Boxing!!
