Letter Boxing Directions
1. The address will bring you onto Toll Gate Road. Go to the end of Toll Gate Road and park in the cul de sac. There is a gate blocking a pebble road (except on Sundays when it is open), what would be the continuance of Toll Gate. This is where you will start your hunt.
2. To start out your hunt, follow the pebble road. The pebble road will come to an end, and a cement road will take its place. Continue on the cement road. You will see some blue markings on trees alongside the road.
3. Along the concrete road, about a quarter mile into the hike, there will be a shooting range on your left. After you pass the shooting range, you will locate your first stamp. At 0.31 miles, there will be an “Old New London Tpk” sign. There is a “V” shaped tree to the right of it, with a red marking on the right trunk of the V. At the base of the “V” shaped tree, your first stamp will be located in a Tupperware container, hidden under leaves.
4. Once found, ink your stamp book, and please place the stamp back into its container, and back into its hiding spot. Then, continue up the cement road.
5. At 0.45 miles up the road, you will notice 5 large concrete columns at the back of a clearing. At the base of the center column there is a pile of stone, and your second stamp is located in the pile of stones. This stamp is an image of a burger. Once you find it explore the area too!
6. After you have stamped your stamp book, please place the stamp back into its container, and back into its hiding spot, just like the first one.
7. Get back on the road and immediately after getting back on, there will be a trail on your left marked by pink markings on trees alongside it. Take this trail and continue down it to find your third stamp.
8. On the trail to your right, you will come across an old broken down car. The car contains your third stamp. In the near side backseat of the car, your third stamp will be located.
9. Once found, ink your stamp book, and please place the stamp back into its container, and back into its hiding spot. Be careful placing this back as there are many gaps it may fall through in the car.
10. Then, get back on the path and continue walking straight. You will pass a waterfall on your right. Continue straight. Notice the trees cut by beavers lying everywhere! Farther up the path there is a rock wall that starts on your left. Walk on the path, about 30-40 steps from the base of the rock wall, there is a tree with a yellow marking on your right. The tree directly to the left of that tree with the yellow marking, has a hole at the bottom of it, where your fourth stamp is found. There is leaves covering the hole and stamp.
11. Once found, ink your stamp book, and please place the stamp back into its container, and back into its hiding spot. Then, continue on the path.
12. At a 1.05 miles, you will come to the end of the yellow path where you have to go left or right. GO RIGHT!
13. At 1.12 miles, the trail has a fork in it. Go straight (continue on your current path). If you go to the right you go up a hill. You don't want to go up the hill. If you go to the left, the path is flat. You want to stay on the flat path.
14. After a bit, The trail should start to merge alongside a stream. Then, there is another fork where you can go straight or right across the stream. Go right across the stream.
15. Immediately after crossing the stream, the first tree on your left covered in moss, is where you will find your fifth and final stamp.
16. Once found, ink your stamp book, and please place the stamp back into its container, and back into its hiding spot. Then, continue on the path.
17. The trail will start to go uphill. As it is going up, you will come to another fork in the trail, one path going down, and the other continuing up. Take the path continuing up.
18. After going up the hill, you will start to go downhill. There will be other paths on your right. Continue straight on the path you are on.
19. At the bottom of the hill, the trail comes to an end and you will be facing the back of a house. Take a left and go down that path.
20. Down the path, there will be another fork. Take a right at the fork, and continue along the property line of the nearby house.
21. At the end of this trail, you will come to the road. Go down the hill and take a right at the bottom of the road. This will take you back to your car in the cul de sac.
