Note: bring gardening gloves and a small spade for digging!

STEP 1: Where to start in Brookline Village:

It has a lip, but only one.
It looks like it might weigh a ton!
It has no hands, but has a ring,
Its clapper makes its body sing.

-------

STEP 2: From this location, walk north(ish), staying on the sidewalk and keep these places to your left...
- the entrance to the building where town bylaws are made,
- a machine that eats money and spits out paper,
- a ring with trees inside it,
- an old brick building where kindergartners learn, and
- a library that's smaller than a bathtub.

STEP 3: In front of you, you'll see a staircase going down. DON'T TAKE IT! Stand at the top of the staircase, and turn to your right. Walk down the sidewalk toward the street named after a famous university.

STEP 4: When you get to another staircase going down toward that street, DON'T TAKE IT! Stand at the top of the staircase, and turn to your left, *almost* all the way around. Follow the sidewalk (take the right-hand fork) back toward the main entrance to the school.

STEP 5: On your right, you'll see a small, round, walled garden with half of a big, mirrored pyramid in it. Go inside.

STEP 6: Follow the ivy on the wall to the corner of the garden where the ivy meets the mirrored glass on the half pyramid. Go to that corner.

STEP 7: Kneel down and wipe away some of the topsoil in the corner. You'll find a heavy, flat stone. Dig around the edges of the stone and lift it up... underneath the stone, you'll find your reward!

STEP 8: After you stamp your book and the book in the box, be sure to replace the box and the stone and leave everything just as you found it! Lots of kids play in this area, and you don't want anyone discovering the box by accident... Have fun letterboxing!
