Bediasite is a type of tektite that originates in the eastern part of Texas centered on the small town of Bedias. They are part of the 34-million-year-old North American strewnfield coming from the Chesapeake Bay impact crater and the largest specimen ever found is just over 200 grams. They are mostly black in color with distinctive etchings and were first identified in 1936 by H. B. Stenzel. They are extremely rare to find since most are deeply buried, but you can find this one at the Bedias Baptist Cemetery across from the town's first Baptist Church.

Directions:
From Hwy 90 go east on Main St for 0.2 mile, bear right on FM 2620 for 0.4 mile then turn right into Bedias Baptist Cemetery across from the first Baptist Church with historical marker. Turn left and go a short distance to first cedar tree on right and park.

Clues:
Walk right 10 steps to multi-trunk tree behind Robert Midlife stone. LB is within trunks on left side under a rock and leaves.

Hike length: 0.1 miles
