This next series will be closed in winter months due to snow (the campground is usually closed from approximately second week of October through second week of May) so check ahead for weather conditions and road closures before you go. Beware of possible rattlesnakes. If you park in the parking lot of Table Mountain, a Calif. Adventure Pass is required to park.

General Direction for Series - Continue on up Hwy #2 past Big Pine ranger station (Angeles Forest Information Center) and turn RIGHT on Table Mountain Road. Proceed up the road to top of mountain until you come to the campground on your left.

#1 - (RETIRED) Turn LEFT into campground and follow signs to Osage Way and campground site #49. Park and walk from site #49 at 270 degrees to rear of campsite towards to where largest horizontal tree lays on ground. You will be facing a view of the desert. What you seek is hidden at base of fallen log under rocks. Sit on log and enjoy view of Mojave Desert towards Lancaster.

#2 – (RETIRED) Drive to the Amphitheater in the campground and park in the overflow parking. Follow trail from the parking area to the Amphitheater. Look for big rocks near northeastern edge of the Amphitheater on LEFT side of stage by fire pit. The letterbox is hidden on the back side, facing the desert view, under a pile of rocks. After locating letterbox, walk down trail and enjoy view of Victor Valley and El Mirage.

#3 – Drive back the way you came and just before exiting campground, on the right side of the road is the entrance to the Table Mountain Nature Trail. You should park in the parking lot of Table Mountain outside of the campground. (Remember to put up your Calif. Adventure Pass parking permit). Return back to the trail head and follow trail until you come to Marker #2 on your LEFT. Directly behind marker #2 are big trees. Letterbox is hidden inside front hollow of first big tree between crevice of rock and tree, under a pile of rocks, pine needles and pine cones.

Hike length: 0.5 miles
