Terrain Difficulty: Moderate (moderate slope, 5K RT)
Recommended Ink: brown & blue
Status: alive
The Fira Trail leads you from Fira along the edge of the caldera all the way through to Oia, 9km away. The views are spectacular and you can hike just to this letterbox at Skaros Rock or all the way to Oia and take a bus back.
Directions:
Take the cable car or donkey path up to the town of Fira.
Clues:
Walk north on stone path along cliff toward Oia, keeping sea with caldera on your left. Go past several pretty white churches with blue domes to sign pointing left to Skaros Rock. Go left and down to path leading down to the rock. Continue to back side of rock and down steps to beautiful overlook with more steps going down to your right to a church. Instead, go left off trail 5 steps to a bush in the rocks. Look on back side in crevice between rocks under a red rock for minibox.
Hike length: 2-3 miles
Recommended Ink: brown & blue
