Trail difficulty: easy, flat level paved trail
Walk distance: less than a mile round trip
Stamp hand-carved.

This letterbox features my "grand bunny rabbit" named Coco, owned by my grandchildren.

Heading east on U. S. Highway 50 through Placerville, take exit 49, Point View Dr.; a second sign indicates Newton Rd. and Smith Flat Rd. at this exit. However, at the bottom of the exit at the intersection, turn left (north) on Jacquier Rd. Drive on Jacquier Rd. a short distance to the intersection with Smith Flat Rd. on the right. Continue just past that intersection and park on either side of Jacquier Rd. near the El Dorado Trail trailhead (which is on the west side of the road).

From the west side of Jacquier Rd., start walking west/southwest on the paved El Dorado Trail. From the far end of the wooden railing on
the left side of the trail, count 3 telephone poles as you head west along the trail. Directly across the trail from the third telephone pole is a single Pine Tree growing at the base of a steep slope (it is about 13 steps from the yellow line in the path to the tree). The box is behind the Pine Tree at the base under a rock covered with bark and pine needles. This is a busy path; please watch for muggles!

Please please be sure the contents are double ziplocked when you put them back in the box (i.e. the stamp is in a ziploc, the book is in a ziploc, and the two are in the larger ziploc bag) and put all of it INSIDE the box. Please rehide the box well under the rock and covered with some plant debris so that it can not be seen from any direction.

Please record your find at www.letterboxing.org/ or at www.atlasquest.com/ .

Hike length: 1 mile
