There's a Preserve in Chesterton with a "COFFEE" creek- so grab your cup and head out for a hike!
Enter on Voyage, then left at the Village, find a spot to park on the street. Start under the namesake trellis and follow the bricks, doing the right thing at the boardwalk. Along the way stop and ask "What good is a woods?", then grab a map and head NE. Take a turn to cross the water, then left at the T, and right at the next. Stroll along through the next intersection, ignoring the steps, going deeper into the woods. Shortly along the way a large stone will remind you where you are, continue on until you come to one more. At this spot, sight 195, take 16 steps to the stump of a broken twin. On the SE side of the fallen arm, underneath, you'll find what you seek, approx. 4ft from the stump.
Please seal container and recover well, I fear the critters here like coffee too!
You can retrace your steps back to your vehicle, this time try the direction of the steps- OR consult your map and continue on, Enjoying this great hiking spot!
Hope you enjoyed the hike- box updates appreciated- I do not live in the area and will only be able to check the box a few times a year- Thanks!
Hike length: 1-2 miles
