The area that is now Taylorsville MetroPark was once one of the busiest crossroads in the country, the meeting place of major transportation arteries. Today, the area serves as the crossroads of bike trails, hiking trails and river recreation. The park is a gateway to new outdoor experiences, such as running, biking, hiking, fishing and paddling. Your journey is waiting to begin...

Enter the park through the North entrance. Park your car and begin walking down the paved path on the Great Miami River Trail. As you head down the path, do not be led astray to the field on your right or the paved way on your left - continue to go straight. As you go a little further, look way off the trail to your right and you will see the house that fell, but be careful and avoid any Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming out of the sewer on your left. Continue going straight. About 1/4 mile before a metal fence, comes a bench (if you go to far, you'll smell a stench). Take a seat on the bench and rest your feet. There you'll be looking directly at something that was once a living masterpiece and has since lost it's life and now protects our hidden treasure.

Hike length: 1-2 miles
