This letterbox is part of the GO and Be Active! program in York County, PA. It will be available from June 1, 2016 – August 14, 2016. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.

The GO and Be Active! program requires you to search for up to 30 “activities” – wooden posts with engraved plates on them, instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression (with a colored pencil or crayon) from the engraved plate onto your GO and Be Active! rubbing sheet, available at any York County Library.

This letterbox is located at Heritage Rail Trail County Park and should be accessed from the parking lot off Loucks Mill Road (directly off Route 30). GO York! level of difficulty = Moderate.

• Starting from the parking lot, walk past the red gate.
• Continue walking underneath the Route 30 bridge.
• Once under the bridge, stay on the trail that goes to the left. This trail will follow the Codorus Creek.
• As you continue on the trail, the Codorus Creek will be on your left and the woods will be on your right.
• Continue following the trail along the Codorus Creek. The trail will eventually turn from gravel to black top. Remain on the paved trail.
• As you walk, you will see a large metal railroad bridge that goes over the trail.
• Underneath this bridge on the right is a wooden fence. You will find the post along this fence.
• To return to your vehicle, turn around and go back the way you came.

Hike length: 1-2 miles
