This letterbox is part of the GO and Be Active! program in York County, PA. It will be available from June 1, 2016 – August 14, 2016. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.

The GO and Be Active! program requires you to search for up to 30 “activities” – wooden posts with engraved plates on them, instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression (with a colored pencil or crayon) from the engraved plate onto your GO and Be Active! rubbing sheet, available at any York County Library.

This letterbox is located at Codorus State Park and should be accessed from the small gravel parking lot off of Sinsheim Road. GO York! level of difficulty = Hard.

• Starting from the parking lot facing the lake (there is a sign of different pictures of fish to the left of the bulletin board), turn to your right and walk over to the woods edge.
• There will be a small white sign at the beginning of the trail. Continue on the trail as it enters the woods. The lake will be on your left and Sinsheim Road on your right.
• Walk about 150 yards to the first intersection. Continue following the trail straight past the intersection.
• The trail will bend to the left and come to another intersection. Again continue following the trail straight through the intersection. The trail will start to go uphill.
• At the top of the hill you will come to a field. Continue to follow the trail.
• As you walk along the trail you will come to 2 wooden benches.
• Continue following the trail out along the lake.
• The trail will weave back and forth as it follows the edge of the lake. The lake should be on your left and the woods on your right.
• After following the trail along the lake, you will come to an intersection in the trail. This is where you will find the post.
• To return to your vehicle, take the trail that slightly goes to the right. The trail is marked SC 4. The trail will start to go up a small hill.
• At the top of the hill you will come to an intersection. Make a left. The trail will start to angle downhill.
• Walk about 50 yards and you will come to another intersection. Take the trail that slightly turns to the right and goes downhill. Pine trees will be on your right, and the hardwood forest on your left.
• At the bottom of the hill there will be another intersection. Make a right at the SC3 sign. The trail will enter the pine trees.
• After walking through the pine trees, you will come to another intersection. Turn left onto the trail labeled M22. This trail will take you back to the parking lot where you parked your vehicle.

Hike length: 2-3 miles
